My biggest interest as a writer is in limitations: in the limits of our senses and understanding, in our inability to affect time or avoid loss and death. 

I’m also interested in the limits of language, and choose words more for abstract qualities (sounds, rhythm, physicality) that directly evoke the thing described rather than for symbolic meaning. For me, honest writing requires formal experimentation.

I’m currently working on a collection of experimental short fiction, parts of which have appeared in BOMB Magazine, and the Brooklyn Rail. 

My literary nonfiction has received an Iowa Review Award and appeared in the The Iowa Review, and The Pinch.
